How to make a call?

Before You Start

As mobile handsets differ depending on the manufacturer, it is important to fully understand the workings of your particular model. For example, menu features of one mobile phone can be very different to that of another.
To make sure you get the most out of your mobile handset, please take time to read your mobile handset user guide supplied with it.

Your Star - Cell SIM Card

You will find your SIM card (SIM - Subscriber Identification Module) in your Star - Cell Starter Kit. SIM cards hold your user identity information for accessing the Star - Cell network and services. SIM cards also store personal information such as a phone directory, calls dialed and received, SMS messages, etc. Since your customer identification is on your SIM card and not on the mobile handset, you have the flexibility of accessing Star - Cell network whether you are using your own mobile handset or borrowing someone else's.
In order to start using your mobile handset, please snap out the SIM card from the SIM card holder and insert the card into your GSM phone with the metal portion facing down to make contact with the contact prongs (You will usually find your SIM tray underneath the battery of your GSM phone).

Types of Phone Numbers
Being a mobile services subscriber, you may need to use the following types of phone numbers:

1. International calls
"+" - country code - city code - phone number or
Gateway code - country code - phone number
2. Domestic (national) long distance
"0" - city code - phone number (for example, 023 123456)
3. Direct Star - Cell to Star - Cell
a direct phone number XXX XXX or 098 XXX XXX (for example, 123456 or 098 123456)
4. Special
3 to 5 digit numbers (for example, XXX - to reach Star - Cell ACCS - Automatic Customer Care System)
